Warmlopers, a group of runners with a warm hart for charity. It is this group from Zwolle, The Netherlands, that announced in 2020 that we would be one of the charity organisations they would raise funds for us by running a half marathon or the 4 English Miles. Our plan for the community centre had been received well and embraced as the purpose for their fundraising.
After the first months of 2020 it became clear that the event ‘The half marathon of Zwolle’ was cancelled. And so Warmlopers determined to wait one year, with the hope to be able to run in June 2021.
As more and more activities were allowed as 2021 continued, a big event like the ‘Half Marathon of Zwolle’ was still cancelled. We are thankful that this did not put the Warmlopers off. Instead they purposed themselves to run their own half marathon. And so it happened that on the 12th of June the runners of Warmlopers were gathered at the start of their parcours. They were ready to run and make the most of it and even try to break some records. Even our team was their to hand out water and snacks to them along the way. It was a joyous and happy time for all of us.
On the 22nd of June the final word came: the event had raised the amount of €10.000,03 for the building of the community centre!!
We are greatly appreciative to you, Warmlopers, who raised money for our community center! We are thankful for all the effort and passion that you put into this event and the beautiful end result!
