The Dilemma In Perception

God has given us an opportunity to work with many children, wonderful and talented children. Children who deeply aspire to achieve the best out of life, and in return to contribute to people around them. But as they come face to face with the reality of life, they find themselves born and raised in poverty and their dreams seem to them nothing but a fairytale.

The dilemma in perception;

Though some find a way to cope up and go with the flow of life, many as they reach teen age, they develop a belief system that there must be something out there that will help them to reach their desired dreams in life. And as a result, many children have been victim of rural urban migration. Caught by surprise, the worst awaits in that which was thought to be the Promised Land. And to escape from their deep disappointments, unhealthy habits are developed as a way of survival, which has led to the loss of many lives of young boys and girls on the major street cities in Uganda. Those who survive death, suffer long term psychological problems and chronicle diseases acquired from the previous life style and if no serious caution taken to help them, which hardly happen, they are nothing but nuisance to the community.

YoChild-Africa is convinced that children in poor rural areas can also achieve success and happiness within their locality without “wasting” their lives in trying to make it to the so called “have it made” areas. In this spirit, through partnership with individuals and institutions, YoChild-Africa has strategically established itself in Kiboga district, Namunyuka village. There we carry out programs such as child sponsorship program, family livelihood program for single mothers, counseling programs for both HIV positive ladies and single mothers and a Saturday program named Royal Kids, where children are introduced to variety of activities that enhance their physical, mental, spiritual and social abilities.

It is in this very place that we have purposed to establish a one stop center for good quality education for over 300 children.

We can confidently say that our hopes are high to soon realize the empowerment and the transformation we desire to see. First in Namunyuka village Kiboga District; then the other poor rural areas around the country.

Our mindset is clear, we want to help, and we believe we can combine our talents and abilities and create something for children living in the poor rural areas of Uganda.

Be part of this rewarding journey. Empower someone today, who will empower another tomorrow.

God bless you.
