In early 2018, YoChild-Africa started its operations in Uganda with a passion and vision of empowering children, families, and communities to reach their full potential by knowing their true identity in Christ and overcoming barriers of poverty and injustice through several community centered programs.
We purpose to serve the needy and the most underprivileged children and families, to reach the unreached, nourish the spiritual needs of the rural people by bringing the love of Christ and bear the burden with those who suffer from poverty and injustice.
In April 2018, we identified this rural village of Namunyuka, Kibiga Sub County, Kiboga District. The village is located about 7km from Kiboga in central Uganda. The people have moderate income and their main economic activity is subsistence agriculture. There is a lack of basic social services. Our focus is on establishing a school project as the first of the diversity of activities we hope to do in Uganda.
We have acquired 2.5 acres of land in Namunyuka Village to establish a community school project which shall help us transform the lives and mindsets of many children and people who seem hopeless and in despair. Our dream is of a multi-disciplinary vocational and skills training center which shall impart both skills, Christian values and knowledge to produce a wholesome transformed individual. We dream big and we believe it’s possible with your support and our commitment to see lives changed for good.
For the last few months we have been working on this piece of land, clearing, demarcating and making boundaries with the full support of the community and the YoChild staff. We shall be continuing with the activity of demarcating the land as we finalize the ground plans for the school project.
For now it is still work in progress and we are very hopeful that this dream shall come to fruition very soon. As we continue to grow and expand our work, our commitment to working with the underprivileged is embodied in our vision. This is just the beginning of what God is doing.
